The best-selling games in Europe for the first half of 2023 have been revealed, and unsurprisingly, record-setting launch titles are leading the race.
according to Gamesindustry.biz Hogwarts Legacy has been the best-selling game of the year in Europe so far, with Diablo IV coming in second, despite only debuting in early June, according to the report, from data firm GSD. The data points out that Hogwarts Legacy has sold very well, already outperforming Elden Ring ’69 sales in the same time frame by 2022. Hogwarts Legacy also outsold FIFA 23 by 124% in the UK (the country’s second-biggest game), making it the country’s biggest game of 2023 so far.
After the two European ranked titles, FIFA 23 continues to grow in sales despite its 2022 release. Then The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, then Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, NBA 2K23, and finally Resident Evil 4 round out the top ten.
The data also includes top 11-20 games including God of War: Ragnarök, Dead Island 2, Final Fantasy XVI, and even older titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, The Last of Us: Part II, Rainbow Six: Siege, Grand Theft Auto Online for a cut.
