This is as rare as a foursome with no additional number. The first four of the Oberliga Nord, usually a guarantee of three points, sank all their games, two of them even at home. The Krefeld region offered the greatest surprise. The KEV U23 team, which scored a total of 3:20 goals in their three games so far in Tilburg, won 4-2.
The Erfurt team delivered another surprise. Your favorite opponent this season seems to be the Hannover Scorpions. Three games, three wins. Leader Halle could at least record a top opponent in his defeat with the Leipzig Icefighters and the Crocodiles Hamburg did not have to digest easy food with the Hanover Indians away.
Behind Hamburg, on the other hand, there were victories. The Indians and Herne thus shortened their deficit. Herford, who is apparently taking a break at the moment, has to watch out for the following Erfurt and Rostockers, who both were also able to reduce their deficit through away wins. At the very back, Krefeld surprised, as already described, and is now nine points ahead of the bottom of the table, Hamm, who went down against Rostock.
EG Diez-Limburg – Herner EV Miners 4: 8 (0: 4, 2: 3, 2: 1)
A well-deserved victory for the Hernians, who noticeably slowed down the pace after the 5-0 win and thus gave the Limburgers the chance to make a cosmetic result. They also accepted the gift and would at least have created a good mood with two double bats, if spectators had been allowed. In the end, Herne had 57:24 shots on goal and with the trio Benjamin Hüfner, Robert Peleikis and Tomi Wilenius also had the match winners in his ranks. In addition to keeper Tim Stenger, Thomas Matheson, who was involved in all the goals, was convincing at Limburg.
Tore: 0: 1 (03:10) Kevin Orendorz (Marsall, Liesegang), 0: 2 (11:05) Artur Tegkaev (Hüfner, Peleikis), 0: 3 (13:37) Nils Elten (Komov), 0: 4 (15:17) Dennis Swinnen (Peleikis, Tegkaev), 0: 5 (21:40) Benjamin Hüfner (Peleikis, Wilenius), 1: 5 (27:27) Steve Slaton (Matheson), 2: 5 (27: 42) David Lademann (Lavallee, Ketter), 2: 6 (34:50) Kevin Orendorz (Marsall 4-5), 2: 7 (38:33) Denis Fominych (Tegkaev 5-4), 3: 7 (47: 29) Alexander Seifert (Matheson, Brothers), 4: 7 (47:58) Kevin Lavallee (Brothers, Matheson), 4: 8 (50:36) Tomi Wilenius (Tegkaev, Hüfner).
Tilburg Trappers – Krefelder EV U23 2: 4 (0: 2, 2: 2, 0: 0)
That was more than a surprise. The young people from Krefeld showed their favorite hosts that the power play is still working and when the goalkeeper has a dream day, such results can happen. 48:18 shots on goal were not enough against the thirteenth in the table, who showed that he is actually better than the current position in the table.
Tore: 0: 1 (10:21) Edwin Schitz (Grygiel, Mahkovec 5-4), 0: 2 (18:55) Ty Kolle (Esch), 1: 2 (20:22) Max Hermens (Verkiel, van Oorschot ), 1: 3 (21:50) Florian Maierhofer (Schitz, Nix), 2: 3 (28:02) Kevin Bruijsten (Bison, Verkiel), 2: 4 (32:47) Marcel Mahkovec (Grygiel Pfeifer),
Hammer Eisbären – Rostock Piranhas 0: 9 (0: 2, 0: 3, 0: 4)
A well-deserved success of the guests who recently appeared in good shape. The Rostock team had their best players in the trio Jonas Gerstung, August von Ungern-Sternberg and Lukas Koziol, who each received four points. Goalkeeper Lucas di Berardo was even able to celebrate a shutout in the end, while the Hammer had their best man in Marvin Nickel, who defused 55 of 64 shots on goal and thanks to the polar bears it was not double-digit.
Goals: 0: 1 (01:45) Constantin Koopmann (Gerstung, Hahn), 0: 2 (05:59) Tim Pauker (Balla, Koziol 5-4), 0: 3 (25:06) Jonas Gerstung (Ledlin, Seckel), 0: 4 (35:50) August von Ungern-Sternberg (Morgan, Dudas), 0: 5 (39:31) Gianluca Balla (Koziol, von Ungern-Sternberg 5-4), 0: 6 (47: 04) Lukas Koziol (Pauker, Gerstung), 0: 7 (56:18) Dante Hahn, 0: 8 (58:17) Gianluca Balla (Koziol, von Ungern-Sternberg), 0: 9 (59:27) Tim Pauker (Heart)
Icefighters Leipzig – Saale Bulls Halle 3: 1 (2: 0, 1: 0, 0: 1)
That was a shame. No spectators and that at an encounter that offered the best play-off entertainment. The Leipziger, who were defensively among the best teams in the league, gave the Bulls no real chance. Only once did the league leader defeat Leipzig goalkeeper Patrick Glatzel and that in excess. The Leipziger, who also had five power play chances, gave away all and were able to thank their own defensive department in the end for keeping the three points with them.
Goals: 1: 0 (03:12) Felix Stopinski (Riekkinen, Geiseler), 2: 0 (07:43) Felix Stopinski (Eichelkraut, Voronow), 3: 0 (29:33) Michael Burns (Riekkinen, Hon), 3: 1 (41:04) Patrick Schmid (Schütt, Valasek 5-4)
Hannover Indians – Crocodiles Hamburg 5:2 (4:0, 0:1, 1:1)
Crocodiles coach Henry Thom summed it up in the PK after the game: “We had forgotten that a game lasts sixty minutes.” Herne had arrived with a big chest, with their heads still on the bus. That was a mistake, because the Indians showed great ice hockey after a first respect in the first third. The 1-0 by Igor Bacek, the 2-0 by Branislav Pohanka and the 3-0 shorthand by Mike Mieszkowski were, each goal in itself, worth the entry fee. In the Hamburg cabin it will have been quite loud during the first break, because the Crocos came back with anger, nailed the Indians in their half for over thirty minutes, but could not prevail against disciplined defending hosts and thus deservedly defeated in the end.
Tore: 1: 0 (07:07) Igor Bacek (Pohanka, Hertel), 2: 0 (10:13) Branislav Pohanka (Bacek, Bowles), 3: 0 (14:48) Kyle Gibbons (Mieszkowski, Turnwald 4- 5), 4: 0 (19:05) Mike Mieszkowski (Möller, Gibbons 5-4), 4: 1 (32:33), Dominik Lascheit (Habel, Reimer), 4: 2 (40:49) Thomas Zuravlev ( Reed, Lascheit 5-4), 5: 2 (57:03) Parker Bowles (Bacek, Turnwald)
Hannover Scorpions – Black Dragons Erfurt 2:4 (0:0, 0:1, 2:3)
Whenever the Erfurt romps on the ice, the Mellendorfer’s jerseys shudder. Although the Scorpions are far ahead of the Black Dragons in the table, including today’s game all three season encounters against the Erfurt team were lost, including two home games. It is also interesting that Erfurt was by no means hiding on the defensive. With a count of 40:38 shots on goal, they statistically showed that they knew about their strength and that they showed it confidently. In addition, the defensive around keeper Konstantin Kessler (94.7 percent catch quota) was always on the alert. On the other hand, Ansgar Preuss shone, with 92.3 percent only marginally weaker than Kessler.
Goals: 0: 1 (34:43) Fritz Denner (4-5), 1: 1 (46:06) Robin Just (Hammond, Pietsch 4-5), 2: 1 (49:28) Julian Airich (Just, Pietsch), 2: 2 (51:26) Andre Gerartz (Schüpping, Schmid), 2: 3 (58:34) Kyle Beach, 2: 4 (59:40) Arnoldas Bosas
Herford EV – mosquitoes eating 3: 5 (2: 2, 0: 2, 1: 1)
A not undeserved success of the mosquitoes, who saw themselves on the defensive for the entire season, but, unlike the hosts, played their counterattacks much more dangerous. Outstanding above all with MItch Bruijsten as well as the Essen outnumber game. While the mosquitoes achieved a 40 percent success rate here, the Herford team were unable to use an outnumber game.
Tore: 1: 0 (02:56) Nils Bohle (Stocker, PIetschmann), 1: 1 (08:16) Aaron MacLeod (Mannes, Zajic) 1: 2 (10:39) Mitch Bruijsten (MacLeod, Zajic 5-4 ), 2: 2 (17:54) Björn Bombis (Rinke, Reckers), 2: 3 (25:06) Toni Lamers (de Wit, Hein) 2: 4 (33:51) Stephan Kreuzmann (Lamers, MacLeod), 3: 4 (47:33) Ralf Rinke (Biezais, Begovs), 3: 5 (59:58) Mitch Bruijsten (Kreuzmann, Hegmann 5-4).
