The screenplay of the Operetta-Biographical Story is a dedication of the Operetta Theater to Latvia and tells the story of the birth of the Latvian state and Siegfried Anna Meierovica, who succeeded in establishing the Latvian state. de jure a de facto, and depicts events from the time when Meierovich was a member of the Refugee Committee until his death, when he was already an internationally recognized diplomat.
The first original Latvian operetta of the 21st century was filmed in the noble Lautere manor with the breath of history preserved for centuries.
“The production of the production is designed as an interdisciplinary synthesis of contemporary art languages in music, cinema, choreography and visual arts. The main motive of the story is Meierovica Dream room – a forge of his ideas, where from his dream of a free state of Latvia – thoughts and narration about the course of a diplomat ‘s life, his portrait is formed. The text and poetry of the author of the libretto Juris Hirsch depicts the life of Meierovics, emphasizing his readiness to sacrifice in the name of personal, ideal and Latvian future. Juris Hiršs has been able to combine the portrait of a statesman with the portrait of a man’s life permeated with love. Plato Buravick’s music paints the storms and love of the era in an expressive language. For the Latvian and international community, the story of Siegfried Anna Meierovics will be an emotionally strong material of historical truths about the Latvian state, both in the language of music and cultivating state patriotism, “says the film’s director Dace Micāne-Zālīte.
By order of the Latvian Operetta Foundation, the music created by Plato Buravickis for soloists and symphony orchestra has been staged and interpreted with musical sophistication by conductor Valdis Butāns, which was immortalized in the audio recording of the music by sound director Andris Ūze.

I am especially pleased that this great collaboration will soon reach listeners and viewers. For me as a conductor, this was my first practical contact with the composer Plato Buravicki and the music he created, and now I can say that Buravickis is a really talented composer and a great melody. Operetta melodies are bright and expressive. I thank the soloists, the musicians of the orchestra, the management of the Latvian Operetta Foundation and the Operetta Theater and the whole creative team for the harmonious work process and I hope that the audience will enjoy our joint performance! “
