From the first minutes, Śląsk Wrocław was the dominant side. In the 10th minute, they were literally a few centimeters away from taking the lead – after shooting the ball into the penalty area, the ball was deflected by one of the visiting players, hit the crossbar and fell just short of the goal line.
Stal didn’t have much to say, and the hosts managed to score the first goal in the 16th minute, when Musiolik scored. It was the striker’s second league goal this season.
In the 40th minute, a simple mistake could have taken revenge on Jacek Magiera’s players, but Krykun was unable to take advantage of the situation one-on-one. A moment later, the guests presented Śląsk with a very similar chance, but Samiec-Talar made a mistake from the sixteenth minute.
Just before the break, Musiolik scored his second goal, Schwarz waited very well in this action, sending a perfect pass towards the striker, who stuck in between the defenders and then made a good goal in a one-on-one situation. The referees spent a lot of time analyzing the situation, but ultimately the goal was allowed.
Shkurin could have tried to score a goal, but he lost the duel with Leszczyński.
A moment after the game was resumed, Stal was very close to being lucky, but Leszczyński made a good intervention on Matras’ attempt from the closest distance. The guests had their chances to score, but they lacked effectiveness in subsequent actions. Until the 73rd minute, when Wolsztyński scored after a great cross from the left side.
Śląsk fans may have felt anxious – it wouldn’t be the first time this season they wasted a two-goal lead. In the second half, the hosts played simply poorly, giving the initiative to their rivals and focusing on defense. And it must be admitted that they almost paid a very high price for it.
Ultimately, however, the first victory became a fact, although it was clearly visible where the problems of the Wrocław team lay. Stal must regret the missed opportunities.
