Top league. Górnik – Legia. Josue is back in shape
Legia could have taken the lead already in their first action. She played the ball well in front of the penalty area, Eliti started Morishita with a beautiful pass, but he first received the ball poorly and then shot past the intervening goalkeeper.
In response, Górnik attacked, but Legia’s defense did well against two dangerous crosses.
In the 28th minute, after a through ball from Josue, Ribeiro found himself in a one-on-one situation, but he was unable to beat the goalkeeper. Further chances for Legia did not motivate Górnik to increase the pace or try to shift the weight of the game to the Warsaw team’s half. The hosts’ problems started near the penalty area – it was difficult for them to break through the carefully played defense of the visitors, who were also able to get out of pressure well and press Górnik’s players high.
It failed the first and second time, but Legia made no mistake the third time. Just before the break, Ribeiro recovered the ball well on the sideline, passed it to Elitim, and he placed it brilliantly into the penalty area, where Pekhart was waiting. The Czech put the ball into the net from close range, and soon the referee ended the first half.
In the second half, Górnik launched attacks that were effective after a quarter of an hour. First, Czyż’s shot was brilliantly saved by Hładun, and after a while, after a handball in Pankov’s penalty area, the referee pointed to the eleventh meter. Ennali put the ball on the spot and gave Legia’s goalkeeper no chance.
In the 68th minute, the guests took the lead for the second time. Josue hit a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, the goalkeeper deflected the ball, but it was caught by Kapustka, who had been introduced on the field a moment earlier, and he made no mistake.
In the 75th minute, Legia struck again. This time, Marc Gual outplayed two defenders and passed the ball to Josue, who only had to hit the ball into the net from a few meters. After this blow, Górnik was unable to recover, and despite several good opportunities on both sides, the result did not change.
Before this match, Kosta Runjaić announced that Legia had nine finals left to play, each of which had to be won. In the first one, the goal was achieved. However, the distance to Jagiellonia Białystok, which is leading in the table, is still seven points and it will be extremely difficult to make up for it.
However, fans of the capital club can be happy that they won the second consecutive match in a convincing style.
