Admitted lawyer to the bars of Paris and Quebec, Serge Gravel joins Lamartine Conseil with widely recognized experience in the field of international arbitration and cross-border construction transactions. His extensive experience in international investments and financing will strengthen the Company’s international trading practice.
In the field of international arbitration, he will co-lead the team led until now by Rémi Hanachowicz, drawing on his previous activities within the international business community (such as BIAC /OECD, International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber). Commerce, the Swiss Arbitration Association, among others): his interventions as a consultant, jurisconsult, single arbitrator, conciliator or mediator will be a key asset in the cases handled by the company.
After studying at the University of Montreal, Harvard Law School, the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Études Internationales de Genève and the University Panthéon-Assas Paris II, Serge Gravel worked over the years, mainly within North American law firms , including Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, Ogilvy Renault and Fasken Martineau.
Ann Granger has, in addition to the cross-border experience developed by Serge Gravel, distinguished experience in competition, distribution and consumer law on behalf of mostly North American organizations: in this respect, he helps the clients with the structure of their distribution networks and marketing of their products. She is also involved in the development of compliance programs, investigations of restrictive competition practices or investigation of files to repair damages due to anti-competitive practices. On these issues, through her international practice she will strengthen the “contracts, distribution, competition” experience of the company led by Benoît Philippe since 2019.
Anne Granger also works on matters relating to cross-border transactions and international arbitration, particularly in the chemical and cosmetics, hotels and restaurants, wine, telecommunications and media sectors.
She has a DEA in Private International Law and International Trade Law from the Panthéon-Sorbonne University Paris I previously Anne worked mainly at the law firms Salès, Vincent & Georges and Fasken Martineau.
Serge Gravel and Anne Granger have been practicing lawyers together for more than three decades now. They built, among other things, the cross-border practice within a company they co-founded, called Gravel, Otto & Associés, mainly between 1998 and 2009.
They are now with Lamartine Conseil Rathana Danh SThe who has been working with them since 2019. Rathana has a Master II in litigation, arbitration and other dispute resolution, delivered by the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas and a Master II in international economic relations law from the University of Cergy-Pontoise.
