The 900 million mark was reached on Monday. The film must be top notch, because according to Paramount, 16 percent of the audience visited the cinema several times for it. Four percent would have seen him four or more times. But ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ from Marvel and Disney does just that little bit better. It raised nearly 950 million dollars (about 905 million euros) worldwide. ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ is currently breaking all records, with Sony and Disney already earning about 1.9 billion dollars (about 1.8 billion euros).

The secret of its success, according to critics, is word of mouth. The highly anticipated sequel to ‘Top Gun’ from 1986 scores a whopping 96 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Cinemagoers give the film an A+ score. The only reason the blockbuster doesn’t hit a billion, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’, is because it hasn’t been released in Russia and China yet.
