The long-awaited Top Gear Finland started on Saturday. The domestic version of the legendary motoring program sparked a lively discussion on social media, where TV people interested in motoring analyzed the first episode and its presenters. The program to be seen at Nelose is hosted by a colorful trio of ex-hockey players Teemu Selännea comedian Ismo Leikola and actor Christopher Strandberg. Each of them has a different relationship with cars and motoring.

The original British Top Gear achieved an almost cult reputation thanks to its presenters, and it is especially remembered in its golden age Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammondin and James Mayn as a playground, although of course other changing hosts were seen in the program.

Against this background, the expectation value of many TV viewers seems to have focused especially on how the presenters of the Finnish version will survive their defeat.
