Now Clarkson has responded by paddling the short message service Twitter, but without apology. “I’m appalled to have caused so much damage and will be more careful going forward,” wrote Clarkson, who rose to fame as a host of the Top Gear car show.
In his Sunday column, Clarkson wrote of Meghan: “I hate her. Not as a hate[il primo ministro scozzese ndr]Nicola Sturgeon or[il serial killer ndr]Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.”
She continued: “I can’t sleep at night as I lie there gnashing my teeth and dreaming of the day when she will be forced to parade naked through the streets of every city in Britain while the crowds chant ‘Shame on you!’ chanting and throwing piles of excrement at them.”
For these and other offensive statements, Clarkson has collected about 6,000 reader complaints, the independent newspaper and magazine industry regulator (IPSO) announced.
