Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana made it to the semifinals of the All England 2022. Success was achieved after ejecting Japanese doubles, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, in three games.
Fikri/Bagas underwent their first All England competition this year. His appearance seems quite impressive.
Fikri/Bagas can reach the semifinals. In the last eight, both of them were able to get rid of the Japanese double, Hoki/Kobayaashi.
Competing on Field 1 Utlita Arena, Birmingham, Birmingham, England, Friday (18/3/2022), Fikri/Bagas vs Hockey/Kobayashi went tight. The match lasts up to three games.
In the first game, Fikri/Bagas immediately gave resistance to the Japanese pair. Having chased points, Fikri/Bagas gave up with a score of 16-21.
In the second game, Fikri/Bagas replied. Appearing consistent and able to correct some mistakes, they won 21-16 victory. The game must be continued into the third game.
In the deciding game, the match was fierce between Fikri/Bagas vs Hoki/Kobayashi. The tight score lasted until it touched 18-18 points.
After that, the deuce score was again created at 20-20 points. Before finally the last two points could be won by Fikri/Bagas. A 22-20 win saw them through to the semifinals!
For Indonesia, Fikri/Bagas became the second men’s doubles to qualify for the semifinals. Previously there was a pair of Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon who had already made it to the top four. Both will compete, and ensure that one final ticket has been grasped.
Indonesia still has two more pairs in the quarterfinals. There are still Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, and Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin.
