The Dresden designer Dorothea Michalk conjures up elegant, super-light overcoats for FFP masks from noble lace fabrics.
Dresden – A mask for the mask: Medical FFP2 masks will soon be mandatory on buses and trains as well as when shopping. Necessary, but not exactly a fashionable highlight.

But the Dresden designer Dorothea Michalk (39) helps. With “lace panties” for the mask.
In her studio on Rähnitzgasse, Dorothea Michalk uses the fine lace fabrics that Dorothea Michalk uses to conjure up glamorous ball gowns to create elegant, super-light overcoats for FFP masks.
“So that my customers don’t look as if they have a filter bag on their face,” jokes the designer.
If you don’t like lace, you can wrap the FFP mask in silk or light viscose.
“The big sellers are white lace masks for brides and masks in pink, red and gold. People long for encouraging colors,” says Dorothea Michalk.
