Top Chef Star Kristen Kish Plots Manhattan Eateries, Waldorf Astoria Revamps Menu
New York City is gearing up for a culinary shakeup with two big name chef collaborations slated to hit iconic Manhattan locations in 2025.
Fans of Bravo’s Top Chef can rejoice: Kristen Kish, Season 10 winner and current host of the show, is heading to the city. Kish will take command of a new, members-only restaurant inside the trendy Ned NoMad hotel (1170 Broadway, at West 28th Street), marking her inaugural foray into the New York dining scene. While the exclusive space may be reserved for members, regular diners won’t be completely shut out. Kish will offer her culinary expertise in the hotel’s public Atrium and bar areas. The new restaurant is set to open spring 2025.
This will be Kish’s second restaurant venture, following the success of Arlo Grey, her popular eatery within Austin’s Line Hotel.
Across town, the Waldorf Astoria Hotel (301 Park Avenue, at East 50th Street) is rising from a multi-year renovation, ready for its grand reopening in 2025. Mark December 10th on your calendar, as reservations for stays at the revamped hotel open that day.
The Waldorf is also unveiling a reimagined dining experience with “Lex Yard,” a brand-new restaurant helmed by Gramercy Tavern’s esteemed chef, Michael Anthony. The name pays homage to the hotel’s Lexington Avenue address and its underground connection to the historic Track 61 train depot. Anthony won’t be divorcing himself from Gramercy Tavern; instead, he’ll be donning two chef hats, balancing his commitment to both institutions.
"Lex Yard" promises a menu focused on American cuisine with a seasonal twist, offering both an a la carte selection and a five-course seasonal menu that will likely elevate classic dishes.
Both restaurants, under the guidance of two celebrated chefs, suggest an exciting future for New York’s already vibrant dining scene.
