It’s time for the Met Gala: This year’s fashion parade of celebrities has a very floral look, according to the motto “The Garden of Time”. Jennifer Lopez opted for silver leaves in a skin-tight dress and Zendaya walked like a peacock on a green carpet surrounded by foliage.
The two are co-chairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual fundraiser.
In keeping with the theme, flowers were everywhere. Lopez was at her best in Schiaparelli. Her Meta Gala is under control: this is her fourteenth time. Zendaya wore shades of blue and green, with matching head and leaf accents.
It’s been five years since Zendaya last attended the Met Gala. Her peacock look was from Maison Margiela. Lopez chose diamonds from Tiffany & Co., including a gorgeous bird-themed necklace with a center diamond weighing more than 20 carats.
Mindy Kaling should make the list of the best dresses in sand color. Her look is by Indian fashion designer Gaurav Gupta.
Gigi Hadid turned heads with a stunning look from Thom Browne. Her white look was decorated with 2.8 million microbeads with yellow flowers and green thorns. She sported a wavy bob and purple lips.
If there is a queen of the Met Gala besides the leader of the night, Anna Wintour, it is Sarah Jessica Parker. The long-time visitor to the gala takes the theme very seriously every year and examines every detail.
This year she wore an Alice in Wonderland dress with a lavender veil and a Philip Treacy hat on her head. The dress was by Richard Quinn. Her long hair fell down her back in beach-like waves.
