REPUBLIC.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Film superhero latest from Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), The Marvelsis scheduled to hit theaters starting November 10, 2023. This film will combine three female superheroes namely Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Ms Marvel (Iman Vellani).
They will be “forced” to work together in the face villain which is dangerous. Reportedly, The Marvels will be the shortest film in the franchise. However MCU has not yet given an official statement regarding how long the duration will be The Marvels.
Talking about duration, the MCU actually makes quite a lot of films superhero which lasts less than two hours. Here’s seven an MCU movie short duration as reported InsiderWednesday (30/8/2023):
1. The Incredible Hulk
Film The Incredible Hulk has a duration of one hour 52 minutes. The Incredible Hulk currently holds the title as the shortest film in the MCU.
Released in 2008, it is the second film in the series, and is the origin story of the Hulk. Actor Edward Norton played the titular character, but was later replaced by Mark Ruffalo. This film is also the lowest-grossing film in the MCU.
2. Thor: The Dark World
Film Thor: The Dark World has a duration of one hour 52 minutes. In the 2013 sequel, Jane (Natalie Portman) accidentally resurrects Malektikh’s immortal energy, forcing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to return to Earth to save her. The stars of the first film, including Tom Hiddleston, Kat Dennings, Jaimie Alexander, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, and Stellan Skarsgard, all appear in the sequel.
3. Doctor Strange
Film Doctor Strange has a duration of one hour and 55 minutes. This 2016 film introduced Benedict Cumberbatch to the MCU as he became the powerful wizard Doctor Strange. Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Tilda Swinton also star in the film.
4. Thor
Film Thor also has a duration of one hour and 55 minutes. Thor which premiered in 2011 was Chris Hemsworth’s first foray as the God of Thunder. Thor was sent to earth to prove whether he is worthy of his powers. In this film, Hiddleston plays the villain Loki.
5. Ant-Man
Ant-Man has a duration of one hour 57 minutes. Starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, this 2015 film tells the story of a man (Rudd) who becomes a superhero after wearing a suit that allows him to change body size. The film also stars Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Pena and others.
6. Ant-Man and the Wasp
Film Ant-Man and the Wasp has a duration of one hour 58 minutes. In the sequel, Scott Lang (Rudd) helps Hank Pym (Douglas) and Hope Van Dyne (Lilly) to save Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), Pym’s wife and Van Dyne’s mother. Laurence Fishburne and Hannah John-Kamen also star in this sequel.
7. Thor: Love and Thunder
Thor: Love and Thunder has a long duration of one hour 59 minutes. In movies Thor fourth, Jane (Portman) finally becomes a superhero and teams up with Thor (Hemsworth) to stop Gorr (Christian Bale), an alien determined to kill all the gods. Kat Dennings, Jaimie Alexander, Tessa Thompson, and Taika Waititi reprise their roles in the film.
