“Top 6 Football Players with Impressive Upper Body Muscles: From Ronaldo to Torres”

Although there are many athletic players among the popular football players, due to the specifics of the sport, there are few among them who can boast a spectacularly toned upper body and large muscle mass. At the same time, there are also those who would have a good chance of competing in a bodybuilding competition – it is true that several of them only worked themselves out after their professional careers ended.

TIM WIESE
The goalkeeper of Kaiserslautern, Bremen and Hoffenheim has played for the German national team six times, but since his retirement in 2014 he has undergone a significant transformation. He built amazing muscle mass and became a professional wrestler. If we were to organize a bodybuilding competition between the best-known football players of the last two decades, then a place on the podium would be almost guaranteed.

ADEBAYO AKINFENWA
The English striker of Igeria origin has never appeared in the Premier League, yet he is known by many in the football world. Not by chance, because for a long time he was considered the strongest footballer in the world. Although he retired last year and is on the verge of bankruptcy, he returned this spring with a move to Regional League side Faversham Town. Looking at his arms, however, we could easily imagine him as a bodybuilder or in a strongman competition.

CRISTIANO RONALDO
I wonder if he has a place in such a composition. Although he doesn’t have the muscle mass of the footballers above, and he doesn’t have the arms of Torres or Akinfewa, he does have a very well developed and impressive musculature. Of course he does. It is well-known that he has taken great care of himself since the beginning of his career and his healthy lifestyle is why he is referred to as one of the best football players of all time.

HULK
The Brazilian Givanildo V. De Sousa, or as most people know him, Hulk, currently plays for Atlético Mineiro, but he also played football for Porto and Zenit. His nickname is not accidental either, because of his enormous stature, the name Hulk fits him perfectly. The 49-time international striker is also a regular guest in the gym, but he probably owes his spectacular muscles to his excellent genetics.

ROMELU LUKAKU
The Internazionale striker is preparing full steam ahead for the Champions League final against Manchester City, but he certainly wouldn’t feel ashamed at an amateur bodybuilding competition either. He flexed his muscles spectacularly when he transferred to England, and today he is considered one of the most muscular footballers in top football. This is accompanied by a height of almost two meters, which means that the opponent’s defenders will not have an easy time if they want to arrest him.

ADAMA TRAORE
As a youth player of Barcelona, he was still a relatively thin guy, but when he transferred to England, he made himself so thin that he was almost unrecognizable. Compared to average football players, he also has a huge arm, despite this, he has been performing at a high level for years. He returned to Barcelona for a short time, currently plays for Wolverhampton, and played eight times for the Spanish national team.

FERNANDO TORRES
In recent years, the world and European champion striker has worked his way up spectacularly. The transformation was so spectacular that today he is part owner of one of the Spanish bodybuilding chains. Although he was a particularly thin player in his heyday, during the 2008 European Championship, few would have thought that he would ever get a place in such a lineup.

We wrote more about the transformation of Fernando Torres in our previous article.
