The General Election Commission (KPU) compiles polling stations (TPS) in all provinces of Indonesia. From the ranks of the provinces, there are 5 provinces with the highest number of polling stations for the upcoming 2024 elections.
Launch CNN Indonesia, the first sequence is West Java with a total of 140,457 polling stations. Second, East Java with a total of 120,666 TPS. Third, Central Java with a total of 117,299 TPS.
While the fourth and fifth are North Sumatra and Banten with a total of 45,875 polling stations and 33,324 polling stations respectively.
The number of TPS is in accordance with the number of final voter lists (DPT) determined by the KPU. It was recorded that the 5 provinces had more than 8 million voters.
The details are, first, West Java with a total of 35,714,901 voters. Second, East Java with 31,402,838 voters. Third, Central Java with 28,289,413 voters.
With a considerable distance in fourth place, there is North Sumatra which contributed 10,853,940 voters. Fifth, Banten, with 8,842,646 voters.
“These are the five provinces with the largest number of voters,” said KPU RI Commissioner Betty Epsilon Idroos in the Open Plenary Meeting of DPT Recapitulation at the KPU office, Jakarta, Sunday (2/7/2023).
The total DPT reached 204,807,222 voters for the 2024 election. In detail, 102,218,503 male voters and 102,588,719 female voters.
The number of DPT comes from the recapitulation of national voters spread over 38 provinces, 514 districts/cities and 128 representative countries.
The 2024 election will be held on February 14, 2024. Later, voters will be presented with five ballots at the TPS at once.
The ballots are to elect a presidential-vice presidential candidate; candidates for DPR members; candidate for member of Provincial DPRD; candidate for member of Regency/Municipal DPRD; and candidates for members of the DPD.
