It shows Snapchat’s own summary of the year’s most shared moments on the service.
The list collects the most popular filters for the whole world, and looks like this:
- Baby Cheeks
- Anime AI
- AI Universe
- Sibling
- Goofy Gaze
From crying to baby
In 2022, it was the most used filter on Snap «Crying Lens». It was viewed almost ten billion times by the app’s users last year.
Some slight similarities exist on the list for 2022 and 2023. Both include filters that turn your face into an anime or cartoon character.
Spring’s runner-up “Shook” also bears some resemblance to “Goofy Gaze,” which is in 2023’s fifth place.
Filters come and go. This year’s list is all effects that change your face.
A few years ago, influencer Sophie Elise told VG that she used filters to hide a bad day.
Snaps from vacation
The fact that we are traveling and on holiday is widely understood. In 2022, it was airports that were the most tagged the places on Snap.
You may have even sent a snap to friends when you were on holiday?
In the list for 2023, London is completely knocked out of the top list.
Last year, the typical tourist destinations were Big Ben and St. Paul’s Cathedral, both located in the British capital, the most crowded places.
In 2023’s list, it is shopping in the Middle East that ends up at the top of the locations we grab from:

- Magic Kingdom Park
- the Eiffel Tower
- Times Square
- Fenway Park
