Currently, space tourism has started and several companies are trying to offer space travel to people who can afford the travel packages. However, the purpose of the trip is limited to earth orbit. Meanwhile, tours to more distant locations in the Solar System are still not possible due to the great distances and inadequate technology.
However, if the supporting technology is available, which are the most interesting destinations we can visit?
It turns out that our solar system has many interesting places to visit, if we have a means of transportation that can support it. From the tallest volcano on Mars, to methane lakes on Titan, here are some dream travel destinations in the solar system.
1. Saturn’s rings
Saturn’s rings are one of the most iconic sights in the solar system. This ring is made up of millions of ice and dust particles orbiting the giant planet. Saturn’s rings are about 280,000 kilometers wide, but only about 10 meters thick. Saturn’s rings are an amazing place to see the wonders of the universe up close. These rings are formed from particles trapped in Saturn’s gravity. These particles are constantly moving and rotating around Saturn, thus forming beautiful and amazing rings.
2. Olympus Mons, Mars
Olympus Mons is the highest volcano in the solar system, with a height of about 22 km from the surface of Mars. This mountain has a diameter of about 600 km, or comparable to the area of France. Olympus Mons was formed because Mars has no plate tectonics, so lava has continuously flowed from the same point for millions of years. Even though this mountain is no longer active, the views are still stunning and challenging to climb.
3. Valles Marineris, Mars
Valles Marineris is the largest canyon in the solar system, with a length of about 4,000 km, or about a third of the circumference of Mars. The canyon has an average depth of about 7 km and a maximum width of about 200 km. Valles Marineris was formed by cracks in the surface of Mars due to pressure from a nearby giant volcano. The canyon has various types of landforms, such as steep cliffs, narrow valleys and plateaus. Valles Marineris is an ideal place to carry out geological exploration and see the beauty of Mars from a height.
4. Titan, Satellite of Saturn
