Why these three?
Common to the three bikes I have included here is that they are not only electric.
They all use the opportunity to develop apps and services that make them smarter and more fun for people (like me) who like to play with technical gadgets.
Just like the latest electric cars, these three bikes are close to becoming computers, in which software and hardware together create the experience.
All three have automatic shifting, a chain that has been replaced with a single carbon belt, and LED lights that are integrated in the bike. They are built for the future and not as an electric version of yesterday’s bikes.
In terms of design, they are more beautiful than most electric bikes you see in the street scene right now. And if you are willing to spend SEK 23-26,000 for a bike, it does not hurt if the bike is also really nice.
But most important of all is that both Cowboy and VanMoof have received really good grades and the bikes continue to improve.
Veloretti’s electric bikes are brand new and have just been launched for sale. But they too have received good praise in the first tests.
However, I am already looking forward to following when the new bikes hit the streets. For electric bicycles, our latitudes should play as big a role in the electrification of our transport as cars do.
