The latest edition of the Top 2000 opened in the night from Saturday to Sunday. NPO Radio 2 DJ Bart Arens has done just that with a musical mash-up, just like in previous years. After the opening show, the first record was played: Driver’s license from Olivia Rodrigo, who has just arrived.
During the opening show, Arens provided a mash-up with songs like In the air tonight by Phil Collins e If she’s not there by De Dyke. She did it on a floating stage in the pond next to Sound and Vision. Flamethrowers, light shows and fountains were placed in the pond, which spewed water up to 25 meters into the light. Fireworks were launched from the roof of Sound and Vision.
Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is number 1 for the nineteenth time and will therefore be listened to last, a few minutes before the turn of the year. Roller coaster by Danny Vera is in second place and California hotels of The Eagles out of three.
Listeners can vote for their favorite songs until December 7th. Band Goldband from The Hague are the tallest newcomer to the list this year. The group, who hit their latest breakthrough last year and flattened all major festivals, debuted at number 55 with their hit Emergency. Leave the door open Silk Sonic is the fastest climber with a gain of 1,443 places.
