The workforce of Perpignan, for the 2021-2022 season, is slowly starting to take shape. After the arrivals of Baptist Delguy (winger, UBB), Arthur Joly (pillar, La Rochelle), Giorgi Tetrashvili (pillar, Agen) and Eddie Saiwailau (winger, Valence Romans), this Monday, June 21, theTalk disclosed three new reinforcements for next season, in Top 14.
A fourth Argentinian at Usap
The first is the Argentine international scrum half Martin Landajo (33 years old; 84 caps). He will disembark Harlequins (England), where he has been playing since 2019 and is currently preparing for the Premiership final against Exeter, this Saturday June 26 (6.30 p.m.).
Trained at CA San Isidro, like a certain Agustin Pichot, Landajo has a solid high level experience acquired with Pumas, the Jaguars and the Which. He joined Usap to two seasons and will be the fourth Argentinian player in the Sang et Or squad, après Jerónimo de la Fuente, Patricio Fernandez and Bautista Delguy.
Tedder and Tadjer have signed, 4 more recruits to come?
The second Usapiste rookie is the South African opening half of the Toulouse stadium, Tristan Tedder (25 years). Loaned this season to Béziers (19 Pro D2 games, 99 points scored including 2 tries), after having already been on the side of Bayonne (2018-2019), he was at the end of his contract in the Pink City and was not kept by the Toulouse leaders.
Tedder, who has the advantage of being Jiff, will digitally replace the Fijian opener Ben Volavola, returned to Racing 92 after his loan year, and will compete with Patricio Fernandez, Matteo Rodor and Thibauld Suchier.
Finally, the third and last Perpignan arrival unveiled this Monday, June 21 is that of the Portuguese international hooker Mike Tadjer (32 years old; 20 caps), who comes from Montauban, where he played 28 matches of Pro D2 this season, including 19 as a starter. Native of Massy and therefore him too Jiff, he landed in Catalonia for one season, plus one as an option, in order to compensate for the end of Charles Géli’s career.
Tadjer will compete with Seilala Lam, Lucas Velarte and the young Hopes Killian Taofifenua and Victor Montgaillard, international U20, and will know his eighth French club after the RCME, Racing 92, Agen, Brive, Grenoble, Clermont and Montauban. Note that Usap is reforming a first line Joly-Tadjer-Tetrashvili, which has already evolved together from 2015 to 2017, to Agent.
With its three new recruits, the staff of Usap who had announced to seek seven profiles to expand the current group therefore only has to find last four players in the transfer market.
