Last year, the city welcomed 99,262 new New Yorkers according to the following distribution: 48,648 girls and 50,614 boys. A number 10% lower than last year.

The most given first name (434 times) is Emma on the girl side and Liam (703) on the boy side.
Sarah and Chloé are no longer in the top 10 and Benjamin replaced Alexandre in last position.

Less amusing, however, is the average cost of daycare in New York: $23,000 per year. It’s almost 3 times more expensive than anywhere else in the US.
