Classic cities such as Barcelona, Rome and London are almost as usual at the top as the most popular big cities for Norwegians who want to meet this spring early.
But Tallinn has the biggest increase, recent statistics from Ticket Feriereiser show.
– Taking a weekend trip in the spring is for many a good way to recharge the batteries after a long and dark winter. It is still the traditional cities in Europe that dominate the top list, but this spring’s rockets are Tallinn and Nice, says marketing manager Ellen Wolff Andresen in Ticket Feriereiser in a press release.
Choose traditional
– We are quite traditional when we choose a big city, and it is often the same cities on the top list that just change places. New this year is that both Amsterdam and Manchester have dropped out of the list, while Athens, Tallinn and Berlin are “new” cities, says Wolff Andresen.
This spring, Barcelona tops the list of the most popular big cities. Followed by Rome, which climbs up from fourth place, and London. London has been at the top all autumn, but it is the cities further south in Europe that are more popular for a spring trip. Tallinn is the city with the largest increase in bookings (78%) and a lot can probably be attributed to the fact that it is relatively affordable to travel there and that it is cheaper to holiday there due to the exchange rate.
