At almost 185 euros in its most optimized version, the Barça away jersey is, along with that of Real Madrid, the most expensive for fans to buy.
FC Barcelona recently unveiled their second kit for the 2024-25 season, marking their 125th anniversary with a black-background jersey that has not only made headlines for its design, but also for its price. With a basic “Stadium” version at €114.99 and a more elaborate “Advanced Tech” version at €149.99, Barça’s jersey is, along with that of rivals Real Madrid, the most expensive for football fans to buy.
Barça and Real have the most expensive jerseys in the world
By adding customization options such as a player’s name and number (€20) and the Champions League logo (€15), the bill can climb to €184.99 for the most complete version. It costs a cent more, in the most optimized version of Real Madrid. Juventus Turin completes the podium with an “Authentic” version peaking at €182. At €158.99 for the flocked model plus the Ligue 1 champion badge, the PSG jersey enters the Top 10.
Prices are increasing for supporters
Equipment manufacturers play a key role in this pricing. Nike, Adidas and Puma, which outfit the majority of top clubs, generally offer two versions of jerseys: a basic one around 100 euros, and a “premium” version, identical to the one worn by the players on the pitch, sold for around 150 euros, excluding customization. This price inflation raises questions about the accessibility of official merchandising for fans. However, the biggest clubs on the Old Continent sell 1 million or more pieces each season, as we recently revealed exclusively on Sportune.
