The title that was most borrowed in 2023 in New York’s approximately 90 libraries tells the story of a nonconformist cook in a patriarchal America: Lessons in Chemistry, written by Bonnie Garmus. This is his first novel, published in 2022 by Doubleday and translated the same year by Robert Laffont under the title: Chemistry Lessons – The Brilliant Destiny of Elizabeth Zott. Since this fall, the series Lessons in Chemistry inspired by the novel has been broadcast on Apple TV+.
In 2nd position among the books most borrowed by New Yorkers is Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, published in France this summer by Fleuve Editions. Then arrive in 3rd place The Memoirs of Prince Harrywhich had been the subject of a big launch by Fayard.

Anyway, Daisy Jones & the Six, again by Taylor Jenkins Reid, closes this top 10 of the most borrowed books in New York. The book is published in French by Charleston.
