The title that was most borrowed in 2023 in New York’s approximately 90 libraries tells the story of a nonconformist cook in a patriarchal America: Lessons in Chemistry, written by Bonnie Garmus. This is his first novel, published in 2022 by Doubleday and translated the same year by Robert Laffont under the title: Chemistry Lessons – The Brilliant Destiny of Elizabeth Zott. Since this fall, the series Lessons in Chemistry inspired by the novel has been broadcast on Apple TV+.

Anyway, Daisy Jones & the Six, again by Taylor Jenkins Reid, closes this top 10 of the most borrowed books in New York. The book is published in French by Charleston.
