A new study shows that Malaysia’s capital ranks as the best city in the world for expats thanks to its lowest housing costs and lowest taxes.
Kuala Lumpur surpassed it List of the best cities for expats globallyaccording to research by American language learning app Preply.
Research has shown that people moving to the Malaysian capital could spend the equivalent of US$1,091 a month just to live in the city, benefiting from lower taxes and accommodation costs.
Tbilisi in Georgia, Lisbon in Portugal, Dubai in the UAE and Bangkok in Thailand also topped the list, which focused on factors such as affordability, internet connectivity, security and how difficult it is to learn the local language .
The best cities for expats
And after the end of the Corona epidemic, office closures around the world, more people have taken advantage of remote work visas, which have become increasingly popular and are now offered by more than 30 countries.
Tbilisi is ranked as the second best city for expats, according to the Preply Index. The Georgian city is safe, has a relatively low cost of living and offers many attractions.
