Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indonesia is even 78 years old, while the capital market is 48 years old. At that age the banking industry became a growth locomotive, where PT Bank Central Asia became the largest.
In Wednesday’s trading (16/8/2023) the issuer with the BBCA stock code has a market capitalization of IDR 1,135 trillion. BBCA is the only issuer with a market capitalization value of more than IDR 1,000 trillion.
BBCA’s achievement cannot be separated from its financial performance which has survived the crisis and continues to grow. Thus attracting investors to buy BBCA shares.
BBCA’s performance was also stellar in the period from January to June 2023. Throughout the first half of this year, the company posted a 34% increase in net profit on an annual basis (yoy) to IDR 24.2 trillion.
The positive performance was driven by an increase in loan volume, improved loan quality, as well as an increase in transaction and funding volumes.
Following the brilliant financial performance, BBCA’s share price grew 8.77% year to date. This increase was higher than the JCI which rose 0.73%.
Then there is Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (Persero) which has a market capitalization value of IDR 829 billion.
The performance of the bank with the BBRI stock code throughout 2023 can be admired because it was able to record the highest price record. As of Wednesday (16/8/2023) BBRI’s share price increased by 11.84%.
The increase in BBRI’s share price is an investor’s appreciation of BBRI’s brilliant financial performance.
BBRI recorded a consolidated net profit in the first quarter of this year of Rp 15.56 trillion. This figure increased by 27.4% compared to the same period in 2022 which amounted to IDR 12.21 trillion.
Quoting its financial reports, the net profit achievement came from interest income which increased by 15.6% to IDR 42.46 trillion compared to 2022 which amounted to IDR 36.73 trillion.
Along with the increase in interest income, the company’s interest expenses as of March 31 2022 amounted to IDR 9.68 trillion from the previous IDR 6.32 trillion.
