“Top 10 Countries with Highest HP Addiction and Social Media Usage: Indonesia Ranks 6th and 7th – Electronics Hub Report 2023”

Electronics Hub just released a list of the most countries HP addiction around the world. Unexpectedly Indonesia made it into the top 10 rankings.

The latest Electronics Hub report looks at the average usage and screen time of mobile phone users in 45 countries. They analyzed DataReportal’s Digital 2023: Global Overview Report to find the data screen time in each country, with additional information from other sources including Semrush and Similar Web.

They then analyzed sleep pattern data from Sleep Cycle to see the average sleep time of people in each country so they could calculate the percentage of hours awake relative to screen time.

As a result, the Philippines is in first place where the population spends 32.53% of their waking time looking at their cell phones. After that, Brazil is in second place with 32.46% and South Africa is in third place with 31.52%.

So what about Indonesia? Residents of +62 are among the people who are most comfortable looking at cellphone screens, with a percentage of 29.17% which puts Indonesia in sixth place.

Electronics Hub is also seeing use social media in dozens of countries. They found that the average time spent by the world’s population browsing social media is 2 hours 31 minutes.

The country that spends the longest time on social media is South Africa which dedicates 22.56% of its day in front of social media. Meanwhile, the country with the least access to social media is Japan with 4.92%.

Indonesia is back in the top 10 for social media use. Our netizens are ranked seventh and spend 19.71% of their day on social media, as quoted from Electronics Hub, Wednesday (26/4/2023).

Indonesia is also the 10th country that spends the most time playing games, namely 7.47% of the day. Interestingly, the first rank is held by Saudi Arabia with a percentage of 11.47%.

Overall average screen time Indonesia in a day (from the use of cellphones, computers, social media, and gaming) for 7 hours and 42 minutes, or 46% of their active time. Indonesia is ranked 12th, below the Philippines (3rd), Thailand (8th), and Malaysia (10th).
