SUKABUMIUPDATE.com – The sky in March 2024 will be decorated with a series of amazing astronomical phenomena. Some of these phenomena can even be observed with the eye without the help of tools such as telescopes and so on.
Of course, it will be very entertaining for astronomy fans to be able to witness rare phenomena in the sky.
Several phenomena will occur this month, namely the impact of several celestial bodies and the phenomenon of the Sun being right on the equator (Equinox). So when do these phenomena occur?

Launching from the Langit Selatan page, the following is a series of celestial phenomena that will occur in March 2024.
1. Antares Moon and Star Exposure (3 March 2024)
The moon meets the star Antares, a bright star in the constellation Scorpius. These two celestial bodies can be observed after midnight when these two objects are high enough above the horizon. Antares will rise first at 23:16 WIB, followed by the Moon at 23:37 WIB.
2. Exposure to the Moon and Planet Mars (8 March 2024)
The moon meets the planets Venus and Mars and forms a triangle on the eastern horizon before the sun rises. Mars rises first at 04:18 WIB followed by the Moon one minute later and the two are 5º apart.

3. Exposure to the Moon and Planet Venus (March 9, 2024)
The moon will meet the planet Venus on the eastern horizon before the sun rises. Venus rises first at 04:46 WIB, followed by the Moon at 05:15 WIB and the two pass each other at a distance of 3.7º.
4. Exposure to the Moon and Planet Jupiter (14 March 2024)
The moon passes Jupiter in the constellation Aries at a fairly large distance of 7º. These two objects can be observed after sunset. Jupiter sets first at 21:13 WIB, followed by the Moon at 22:03 WIB.
5. Moon Exposure and Pleiades Star Cluster
The moon passes the Pleiades star cluster at a distance of 3.5º and can be observed from sunset until midnight. The Pleiades sets at 21:52 WIB, followed by the Moon at 22:19 WIB.

6. Neptune Conjunction (March 17, 2024)
Neptune is at its furthest distance from Earth at a distance of 30.90 AU. In the sky, Neptune appears 1.2º from the Sun so it cannot be observed.
7. Equinox (March 20, 2024)
The sun is at the equinox or above the equator. The length of day and night is the same, namely 12 hours. For people in the northern hemisphere, March 20 is the Vernal Equinox or Spring Equinox which marks the beginning of spring. In the Southern Hemisphere, the equinox in March is the autumn equinox which marks the beginning of autumn.
8. Exposure to the Planets Venus and Saturn (22 March 2024)
The planet Venus and the ring planet (Saturn) will pass very closely. After the previous month Venus met Mars, this time it was Saturn’s turn to meet before dawn. The two are only 19.3” apart.

9. Maximum Eastern Elongation of Mercury (March 25, 2024)
Mercury and the Sun form a maximum angle to the Earth. The maximum eastern elongation achieved by Mercury is 18.7º. This means that Mercury will be 18.7º to the west of the Sun.
10. Antares Moon and Star Exposure (March 30, 2024)
The moon passes close to Antares, a bright star in the constellation Scorpius and can be seen near midnight. Antares will rise first at 21:30 WIB, followed by the Moon one minute later at 21:31 WIB. The two are only 1.7º apart.
