Tools and methods for integrating health into climate change adaptation and mitigation policies and strategies

This document presents the results of an exploratory review of the literature on existing tools and methods that make it possible to integrate health concerns into adaptation and mitigation policies and strategies relating to climate change. It is aimed at public health actors who could be involved in the development of these policies and strategies. Other actors who would like to integrate the health dimension more into their actions to combat climate change could also be concerned.

The review of scientific and gray literature identified thirteen tools and methods which were classified into five categories:

  1. Impact assessment tools;
  2. Tools for integrating health into adaptation policies and strategies;
  3. The models;
  4. Conceptual frameworks;
  5. The other methodological approaches.

This document briefly describes these tools and methods and provides hyperlinks for stakeholders wishing to maximize the health benefits of climate change mitigation or adaptation scenarios and wishing to learn more.
