Oversleeping can indicate a health problem, and oversleeping can unknowingly increase the risk of stroke.
A study conducted by researchers at the University of Galway, Ireland, analyzed data from 5,000 people, half of whom had had a stroke.

In the latest research published in the journal Neurology, scientists analyzed data from 5,000 people who participated in the INTERSTROKE study, which tracked patients and matched controls from 32 countries.
The results showed that participants who slept more than nine hours per night had twice the risk of having a stroke compared to those who slept seven hours a day.
