A kiosk owner in Bremen sells drugs to minors and uses his warehouse as living space. After an inspection, the public order office takes action.

Bremen – That was too much of a good thing: The public order office in Bremen has closed a kiosk in Schwachhausen. During an inspection, the employees noticed a number of violations. What was particularly striking was that the owner stated that he was keeping a large amount of drugs in the shop in order to sell them to minors. This is not the first strange incident in recent days: just recently, a traffic sign in Bremen caused confusion.

Public order office searches kiosk in Bremen – and discovers several violations

According to the city of Bremen, the inspection took place on Thursday, September 12, in a Schwachhausen kiosk. The inspectors from the public order office initially found several cannabis flowers, untaxed cigarettes and expired food. The temperature display in the freezer was missing and the kiosk’s cash register system was not working either.

But the inspectors from the public order office were probably even more amazed when they entered the warehouse. There they discovered clothing, a hotplate and a bed. The warehouse was apparently used as living space. And the kiosk, it seems, was also used as a storage area for stolen goods: there was an e-scooter there that had previously been reported stolen.

Kiosk owner admits: Large quantities of laughing gas for sale to minors

But that wasn’t all. Although he didn’t have permission to do so, the operator served alcohol in the kiosk and set up chairs outside. All of that would probably have been enough reason to close the kiosk. But it got even worse. According to the report, large quantities of laughing gas were built up in the kiosk. The operator admitted to the public order office employees that he was selling it to minors “for intoxicating consumption”.

After the inspection, the kiosk was closed permanently. The public order office confiscated the keys. Due to the many violations, it is now being examined whether the operator’s license for his business will be permanently revoked.
