The third division game scheduled for Saturday between Hallesche FC and VfL Osnabrück has been postponed. After a corona outbreak, the Lower Saxony no longer had enough players available.
A total of twelve football professionals and five members of the functional team have tested positive at VfL and are in domestic isolation. Thus, the Osnabrück have fewer than 16 players. VfL submitted an application to postpone the game, which the German Football Association (DFB) granted on Friday.
Catch-up date still open
There were already 13 corona cases in Lower Saxony on Wednesday, and since then four more (including three players) have been added. Training has been canceled until further notice to break the chain of infection.
It is not yet clear when the game will be rescheduled. Osnabrück’s next league game is scheduled for April 11th. Opponents at the Bremer Bridge would be SC Verl.
