On August 12, Tony Parker will become the first French player to enter the NBA Hall of Fame. A superb individual reward, but also a great collective moment to experience, since it is his former teammates in San Antonio Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili who will induct TP into the World Basketball Hall of Fame.
Entering the Hall of Fame is a bit like arriving at a big party where you don’t know anyone. We need friends to bring us in and introduce us to everyone. And for that Tony Parker, Tony Parker chose his lifelong teammates with whom he won everything in the NBA, Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili.

Drafted by San Antonio in 2001, Tony Parker did not have the destiny of a Hall of Famer. He had to fight to make his mark in this team already champion two years earlier, led by an ultra-strict coach and led by a leader colder than the glaciers of Alaska. A few years later, TP also confided that Duncan had taken more than a year before speaking to him.

They have given way to a whole series of individual and collective successes: four champion rings, an MVP in the 2007 Finals, several places in All-NBA Teams, six selections to the All-Star Game,… all Tony Parker won in the NBA was with his two sidekicks. Together, they form the most outstanding trio in Spurs history. It is therefore logically Tim and Manu who will introduce Tony to the Hall of Fame in a month, they who have already been there since 2021 and 2022.

The icing on the cake, the three men will then be joined by David Robinson and responsible for inducting their lifelong coach, Mr. Gregg Popovich. Even if Pop’s career is not over yet (he recently extended it by five years with Spurs), the legendary coach deserved to be honored with his players. The five greatest men in the history of the franchise will therefore be reunited for this unforgettable evening, and forever in the American Basketball Hall of Fame.. Not to mention Becky Hammon, Popovich’s former assistant, who will also be entering the NBA Memorial on the same evening.
Duncan, Ginobili, Robinson, Popovich, Hammon,… there will be San Antonio legends per square meter for Tony Parker’s introduction to the Hall of Fame on August 12. An evening that is likely to be emotionally charged and bring back some good memories to Spurs fans.
