With the drummer of hit band Het Goede Doel as a father and a mother who works as a nude model, you can say that Tony had anything but an average childhood. When he was only 12 years old, he dropped out of school to focus on his drumming career – which he traded about ten years later for a life as a DJ. Since then he has traveled the world.
“Because I played drums at a young age and performed in a band throughout the Netherlands, I noticed that school was very awkward in my life,” Tony says about his childhood. “Then I would have performances at the weekend and then I would be super tired again in class on Monday learning the Pythagorean theorem.” In addition, according to the DJ, his parents had to visit the rector at least twice a week because he had misbehaved again: “I was not a bad kid, but I was just a very busy child. It just didn’t come in.”

While he’s happy with how his life has turned out, Tony thinks he missed a bit of social life by dropping out of school at an early age: “I moved into adult life very quickly after I was 12. And that’s all I care about. sometimes regret it. On the other hand, I couldn’t have wished for anything more beautiful than how my life has turned out now.”
Although Tony is currently content with his life, his biggest goal is to become a father. That’s one of the reasons he entered The Bachelor. But that adventure didn’t go as planned… The DJ tells about his participation: “I did not expect it to be so intense. I really had stomach pains and stress for weeks from: ‘How do I come across? Soon the whole of the Netherlands will hate me?’ Seriously, I didn’t know that well. Then it started and a lot of fun, but also shit came over you. That was stressful.”

“I’m already working to give my kids a good childhood later, and make sure they don’t lack anything,” he says, referring to his work ethic. “I want to give my children a childhood I never had.” Because although Tony speaks fondly of his parents, it was not easy for him as a child. His mom and dad’s marriage was very turbulent, and little Tony had to act as a mediator on a regular basis. “We had the best life there was, but there were also a lot of lows.”
During those lows, Tony never felt the need to engage in drugs. On the other hand, he does not say ‘no’ to women. When Art asks him how many ladies he’s slept with, he chooses his words wisely: “I always say between 30 and 300.”
