Tõnis Mölder: The Council of the Center Party will decide on the holding of an extraordinary congress

At the council meeting of the Estonian Center Party in Tallinn on Saturday, the Riigikogu election results will be summarized, the political situation will be analyzed and the coalition agreement of the new government will be evaluated. According to Tõnis Mölder, chairman of the Central Party’s council, in the month since the election, the regions have made summaries of the campaign, and the council session provides an opportunity to exchange ideas on this topic with fellow party members.

“Among other things, the agenda of the council session includes items related to the holding of an extraordinary congress. The proposal for organizing an extraordinary congress has come from the board, and the council can decide on its holding,” he says Tõnis Mölder. “The views of the council are extremely important in shaping the party’s future activities. The post-election situation has vividly shown how the promises made by the political parties forming the government have collapsed like a castle in the air, and the people of Estonia are awaiting tax increases for which no mandate has been requested. The proposed tax changes will lead to a decrease in the livelihood of our families, and the Center Party will stand for them not to be implemented in this form.”

The council meeting of the Central Party will begin on Saturday, April 15 at 11 a.m. in the Sirius hall of the Nordic Hotel Forum conference center (Viru väljak 3, Tallinn). Journalists have the opportunity to film the political presentation of the chairman of the Center Party, Jüri Ratas, interviews can be done after the end of the council session at approximately 2 pm.
