Also in the interior the wind speed goes towards 90 kilometers per hour or slightly above. KNMI has the weather warning code yellow announced for tonight, due to (very) heavy wind gusts. Wind force 9 can be achieved directly on the coast.
Today’s heavy wind is related to a cold front, Schambergen explains. “This includes heavy showers and strong winds. It is really not comparable to the long-lasting storm that Eunice was, this lasts relatively short and we really don’t get gusts of 130 to 145 kilometers per hour.”

The wind will be strongest during the showers, predicts the meteorologist from Buienradar. Then we will have to deal with those dangerous gusts of wind that the KNMI warns about. Schambergen: “Then watch out for things that may not have come loose during storm Eunice but now break loose or start lying around.”
Monday also code yellow
On Monday we will still be bothered by the wind, with strong gusts of wind everywhere from 75 to 90 kilometers per hour. And along the coast in the morning very strong wind gusts of around 100 kilometers per hour. In the interior the day starts relatively calmly, during the afternoon the wind increases there. In the evening it becomes a bit calmer again.
Tuesday will start dry, but it will rain in the afternoon. Schambergen mentions Wednesday as a bright spot to look forward to, a ‘very beautiful day with sun and little wind’.
