Sandro Tonali once stated that he did not want to be equated with Andrea Pirlo. In fact, Tonali really resembles Pirlo.

“Comparison with Pirlo, he inspires me but I have never seen another player like him. Maybe our hair is the same. My role model is (Gennaro) Gatusso in terms of courage on the pitch,” Tonali said in November 2018.
Gattuso besides being a Milan legend, he also coached at the San Siro from November 2017 to May 2019. Sandro Tonali have not had the chance to experience being coached by Gattuos because they only joined in September 2020.
