Jakarta –
Two foreign nationals (DO) of Polish origin deported by Class I Immigration Office Denpasar Immigration Checkpoint. Both are said to have violated immigration rules and customary rules during the Nyepi celebration because they were found camping on the beach.
Head of the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Section of the Immigration Office Class I TPI Denpasar Iqbal Rifai said the two foreigners were planned to be forcibly returned to Poland from Soekarno Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (25/3) tomorrow.
“The two Polish foreigners will be deported tomorrow using AirAsia QZ7517 at 09.55 WITA to Soekarno Hatta, then at 17.05 WIB they will continue their journey by boarding Etihad Airways EY475 transiting in Abu Dhabi, then to Poland,” he said as reported by Antara, Friday (24/24/2011) 3/2023).
The two foreigners are a man named Karol Grabinski (40 years) and a woman named Barbara Karina Walczak (25 years). Both returned to their country at their own expense.
Denpasar Immigration is currently still investigating the statements of the two foreigners and they will remain at the Denpasar Immigration Office until the time of their deportation.
However, the results of the interim examination showed that the two foreign nationals knew that there was a Nyepi commemoration in Bali and the rules prohibiting residents from leaving their homes for 24 hours or one day.
“The person concerned knows there is Nyepi in Bali and understands what are the provisions during Nyepi. We are still exploring whether there are other (violations) elements,” said Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement at the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Bali Anak Agung Bagus Narayana .
The two Polish foreigners also had an argument with the pecalang of the Sukawati Traditional Village because they refused to enter the house or inn. The two were found camping in a tent set up in a gazebo (bale bengong) on Purnama Beach, Sukawati, Gianyar, Wednesday (22/3), during the Nyepi commemoration in Bali.
“So, (the two foreigners) can be subject to immigration administrative measures, one of which is deportation,” said Narayana.
