Tomorrow, Friday the 10th, the Regional Hemotherapy Center will hold a day to promote habitual donation and collect blood from any group and factor in the Province’s Labor Secretariat.
The mobile to receive donors will be stationed in Bolívar almost on the corner of Spain, from 8 am to 1 pm. Volunteers are asked to attend unaccompanied, carry an identity document, not be fasting and hydrate sufficiently.
On the occasion, CUCAI Salta staff will inform attendees about the donation of bone marrow for transplantation to people with blood diseases, such as leukemia, thalassemia and others. Likewise, potential donors will be registered.

· Red blood cells can be kept refrigerated for 35 days; platelets, 5 days in constant agitation at 22 degrees; plasma, 1 year at -40 degrees. This is why donors are constantly needed.
Before making the donation, the volunteer receives clear and precise information, a confidential interview is carried out and a medical professional carries out the clinical control, consisting of taking the pulse, blood pressure, temperature and hemoglobin level.
If the person is able to donate, the extraction is carried out, following strict biosafety regulations.
Regular donation
The Ministry of Public Health reminds the population of the importance of being regular, spontaneous and voluntary donors, without mediating the need for blood for a family member or close friends, since the need for blood products to transfuse patients throughout the province is permanent.
There is great demand for blood for patients throughout the province and the turnout of donors, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is low. This represents a problem, since without people who contribute voluntarily it is impossible to meet the needs.
For this reason, people over 16 years of age in good health are invited to donate spontaneously, attending the Regional Hemotherapy Center, Bolívar 687, from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., or on Saturdays, from 7 to 12. For more information, you can call 4215020.
