Tomorrow, the Polish Prime Minister will arrive in Riga to meet with Karina

The Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moraveckis will pay a working visit to Riga on Sunday, November 21, to meet with the Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš (JV).

The Prime Minister’s press secretary Sandris Sabajevs said that during the meeting it was planned to discuss the current situation on the European Union’s external border with Belarus and regional security issues.

The meeting is scheduled for 2 pm at the Cabinet of Ministers.

It has already been reported that during the extended hybrid attack on the regime of the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko, attempts have been made in recent months to send thousands of illegal immigrants from Belarus to Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, most of them arriving in Belarus as tourists from Iraq.

However, since last Monday, there have been massive attempts by Belarusians to violently break into Polish territory.

The European Union has accused the Minsk regime of trying to avenge support for the Belarusian opposition and of sanctions against Belarus in response to last year’s violent crackdown on protests.

Belarus has reported that migrants who had previously settled in the woods at the Kuznets-Bruzgu border checkpoint have “voluntarily moved” from there to a logistics center a few hundred meters away.

However, Polish border guards blocked attempts to enter the country illegally across the Belarusian border late Friday night.

According to a statement issued by the Polish Border Guard Service, foreigners behaved aggressively, threw stones, fired firecrackers and fired tear gas. A total of 195 attempts to cross the border illegally have been recorded.

Several people have been detained in an attempt to help a group of 34 migrants cross the border. They include four Polish citizens, two each from Ukraine and Germany and one each from Azerbaijan and Georgia.
