Tomorrow Monday the SER returns to Madrid

The Regulated Parking Service (SER) of the capital will be operational again tomorrow, Monday, June 1, after its temporary suspension as a result of the coronavirus as a measure to favor the parking of health personnel as well as relatives of those admitted by Covid-19.

Despite the fact that this measure was to remain initially throughout the state of alarm (and its successive extensions) due to the pandemic, this past Wednesday, the mayor, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, announced that it would be restarted.

The Consistory decided to deactivate the SER, at first, for the Madrid health workers, in the car parks near hospitals and health centers, with the intention that it would not cost them to go to their jobs during the hardest days of the pandemic. The relatives of those admitted were also considered, reports Europa Press.

Later, the measure was extended to the entire capital. At all times the municipal government recalled that it was an exceptional measure and asked for a rational use of it, remembering that society was confined.

“We understand that at this time public transport should be one of the priority options, if not the preference,” said the councilman last Wednesday.
