TOMOHON-Tomohon City Government under the leadership of Mayor Carroll JA Senduk SH and Deputy Mayor Wenny Lumentut SE through the health service pioneered the concurrent movement for dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) control.
The head of the health office, explained Dr. John D Lumopa MKes, subdistrict and urban village level stakeholders throughout the City of Tomohon are encouraged to give attention and support for DHF prevention and control.
“The simultaneous DHF prevention movement bears in mind that there has been an increase in DHF cases, the current time is changing, and fogging with insecticides is only able to kill adult mosquitoes and can endanger health human,” said Dr. John Lumopa.
Therefore, fogging is not done routinely and is not the primary strategy for preventing DHF. But it is easier and very effective by keeping the environment clean and eliminating mosquito larvae.
The Tomohon Health Bureau also advises the entire community to take preventive measures.

“The sub-district head and the village head should report the dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) prevention and control activities to the Mayor of Tomohon through the head of the regional health service,” said Dr. John Lumopa.
