The Ministry of Finance in this case the Directorate General of State Wealth (DJKN) continues to rack its brains to take advantage of confiscated Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance (BLBI) assets belonging to Hutomo Mandala Putra alias Tommy Suharto. Previously, it had been auctioned three times, but there were always no interested parties (TAP).

Unfortunately, regarding the next steps for Tommy Suharto’s assets, DJKN’s Director of Legal and Public Relations Tri Wahyuningsih Retno Mulyani has yet to disclose.

“Regarding Tommy’s assets, lastly we did another auction but there were no interested parties. For the follow-up, maybe on this occasion we can’t say sorry because we want to do another study and what the plan is,” said the woman who is familiarly called Ani in a Talking Together. To note, Tommy Suharto’s assets have been auctioned three times but always have TAP status. The four assets auctioned in one package did not sell well even though the price offered continued to decline.

The third auction of Tommy Suharto’s assets will be held on June 17, 2022. The government has reduced the limit value or minimum price of finished goods to Rp 2.06 trillion, from the first auction value of Rp 2.425 trillion and the second Rp 2.15 trillion. Likewise, the amount of the security deposit is set at Rp 420 billion, from the previous Rp 1 trillion in the first auction and Rp 430.2 billion in the second auction.

Previously, the Director General of State Assets at the Ministry of Finance, Rionald Silaban, said that his party would still auction off Tommy Suharto’s assets.

“We will still try to do the auction,” said Rio when met at BNDCC, Nusa Dua, Bali, Friday (15/7/2022).

In essence, the Task Force will try to keep the confiscated assets from Tommy Suharto still being auctioned. Whether the four assets will be auctioned separately to reduce the value, Rio cannot be sure.

“It’s okay (4 auctions). Not necessarily later depending on the value. I’m waiting for the technical team, they want to break up or not. The point is we try to auction it off, “he explained.
