GenPI.co – Indonesian men’s doubles Hendra Setiawan sits as accompanying coach Tommy Sugiarto in the last 16 of the Denmark Open 2021.
Hendra’s action also received a response from many parties, one of which was the legendary Indonesian badminton player and the father of Tommy, namely Icuk Sugiarto.
The action, said Icuk, shows sincerity Hendra Setiawan accompany Tommy to fight for Indonesia.

“That’s why he himself was moved to help, after all, it also didn’t bother him because (Hendra, ed) was not playing,” Icuk said to GenPI.co, Friday (22/10).
Icuk said, as a senior and had a lot of experience, Hendra’s action was a natural thing.

“Of course Hendra wants to give Tommy peace so that he doesn’t feel alone in Denmark,” said Icuk.
The 1983 badminton world champion admitted that he was amazed that Hendra’s act of accompanying Tommy was not the first time he had done it.

Previously, Hendra also accompanied Tommy’s appearance at the 2019 All England tournament.
