A tomato processing factory will spring up in Bobo-Dioulasso, as part of the community entrepreneurship program. The Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, laid the first stone of this factory on September 23, 2023 in the Bindougousso district of the city of Sya.
It will be built on an area of three hectares and has a forecast investment cost of five billion CFA francs. The Bobo-Dioulasso tomato processing plant, for which the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC) is laying the first stone, will enable the creation of at least one hundred direct jobs and five thousand indirect jobs. . “This day is memorable,” supports the head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. For him, it is “concretion of an ideology that we are developing. The late Captain Thomas Sankara said: “dare to invent the future”, and we will add: by us and for us. specifies captain Ibrahim Traoré. For this, he therefore invites Burkinabè from inside and outside to continue to subscribe and have confidence in the community entrepreneurship program.
Satisfaction of the active forces and the population of Hauts-Bassins
Speaking on behalf of the region’s active forces, Mariama Konaté/Gnanou, governor of the Hauts-Bassins region, expressed her joy and expressed her gratitude to the first authorities of the country, for the choice made in her region, in order to to host this ceremony. She says that the launch of the community entrepreneurship program has generated enthusiasm among the country’s populations and “those of Hauts-Bassins are not left out”,she specifies. She reassures that this ceremony “comes to comfort us and further galvanize us in our massive subscription to the community entrepreneurship program.” For Mariama Konaté/Gnanou, the construction project of this tomato processing factory comes as a “appropriate response to the problems of selling tomatoes and the sale of them to external buyers”.
The beginning of the realization of a program
The laying of the first stone of this tomato processing factory marks the beginning of the realization of the implementation of the Community Entrepreneurship Program, through popular shareholding. It was launched on June 12 by the Head of State. And to date, more than 60,000 subscribers have been registered for an amount collected of more than 2 billion 500 million FCFA. Note that ultimately, 100 billion CFA francs are expected to finance a first pack of four projects. The program aims to ensure harmonious development for all social strata who will be at the center of the process of production, transformation and marketing of local products.
