Today, extremely sad news circulated in the media. Tomasz Jakubiak, a well-known and respected chef, suffers from a rare form of cancer. He told all about it on the breakfast program – Good Morning TVN.

He gained the greatest popularity and sympathy among TV viewers as a culinary expert in the program MasterChef. Today, the audience’s favorite talked about what he has been struggling with for a long time. “When I showed that I had actually lost over 20 kg, thousands of comments poured in, asking what happened, what was going on and why I looked like that. I look like this because I was diagnosed with a very rare and very difficult to cure cancer. Something that practically does not occur at all or occurs in less than one percent of people in the world,” he said in an interview with Dorota Wellman.
He decided to talk about the disease because he no longer wanted to deceive his audience. “I felt like I was cheating. I didn’t talk about it for the sake of my family. I didn’t talk about it because I was ashamed to admit to a child that I was sick. But I said no, I have to say it,” confessed Tomasz Jakubiak.

Tomasz Jakubiak suffers from a rare cancer
Juror Masterchef he confessed that he found out about the disease by accident, thanks to routine tests. He then felt slight stomach pain, but he downplayed the symptoms because he thought they were caused by trying different dishes. “They appeared, but I decided that I ate so much, traveled around this world so much, tried so many things, that it could just happen. Like an ordinary person, I did the tests that I do every year, i.e. gastroscopy and colonoscopy. I even ended up in the emergency room. They did blood tests etc. and said that there was nothing wrong with me, I just hadn’t taken some antibiotics and that that was probably why I was having such cramps, so they let me go home. Over time, it spread to the spine. My lovely mother-in-law said: “You need to go for an MRI.” I went and that’s when the whole adventure began,” he said. “A doctor, a friend of mine, came to my house and said: ‘Listen, we need to talk because you have cancer. […] The MRI revealed that your pelvic bones and about two vertebrae in your spine were very badly damaged, and the situation was serious,” he continued.
