Tomasz Genow – biography
Tomasz Genow was born in 1991 and was a Poznań native with Bulgarian roots. He searched for the etymology and meanings of words. Genow graduated in philosophy and art history from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.. He was a poet, a slammer, a cultural animator and an activist. Thanks to him poems appeared on the walls of tenement houses in the center of Poznań Szymborska, Herbert, Różewicz and Miłobędzka.
Tomasz Genow performed at the Poznań slams under his own name or nickname Gencho. In his repertoire he had satirical songs with his own lyricsIn 2019, a collection of his essays was published under the title “Cosmos is made of words. Essays on the diversity of the world”. He won the main prize in the 1st National Literary Book Competition.
