VERONA – Slovak football representative Tomáš Suslov left Dutch FC Groningen for a one-year loan to Hellas Verona. In the new team, he will meet his compatriot Ondrej Duda.
The Transfermarkt portal reported on the transfer on Friday. According to the Italian media, Verona also has an option for a permanent transfer for 1.5 million euros in the contract, the amount can rise to two million including bonuses.
The 21-year-old offensive midfielder came to Groningen from Prešov in 2018 and played 96 matches in his shirt, scoring five goals and assisting on another 12. The Dutch team was relegated to the second highest competition last season, Suslov played in two duels and scored once. Slovak champion Slovan Bratislava was also interested in his services this summer.
Suslov also has 18 starts in the national team, in which he scored one goal.
